Life Update: July 2018

Hello, all! It’s been a while, hasn’t it? I’ve been quite absent from the blogging world since I’ve returned from France. I got back actually in May, but as I was trying to interview for jobs and get my life together, I didn’t feel I had much to write about. However, I thought I would write a short post today to go over where I’m at at the moment.

As some of you may know, I am not returning to France next year. In fact, I will probably be in the USA for the foreseeable future. Will I be here forever? Who knows. But I have no plans to leave at the moment. It’s been a great two years as a TAPIF language assistant, but as much as I love living in France, it’s time for me to take the next step in life and get a job with a real adult salary and pay off those pesky student loans.

I spent the better part of May and June submitting applications for teaching positions, and the beginning of June finalizing them and doing interviews. Teaching job applications are always a bit tiresome, but it was all worth it in the end! Because after going on only two interviews at two different schools, I was offered and accepted a position as a French teacher at a public high school. So I won’t be jobless come fall! So after accepting the position officially, I’ve been working part time at a restaurant while taking care of all of the certification and pre-hire paperwork that I need to get done before summer is up.

If all goes well at this job, I plan on sticking around, so I will probably be commencing a Boring Life as a teacher and Adult Human. That being said, I’m honestly not sure what I want to do with this blog, or if I will continue to post here. I won’t be travelling nearly as much, so even if I do, it will probably be mostly about whatever is going in my life, or maybe some photography, which I’ve been becoming increasingly interested in as of late. In fact, the photo I’ve included at the top of this post was taken in Cork, Ireland and edited by me. I’m nowhere near a professional, but it’s fun to flex your creative muscles once in a while.

What do you all think? I would love to hear your thoughts, if you have any.
